Hunting Alaska

BROWN BEAR HUNTS

Our Brown Bear Hunts are conducted in Unit 9 of the Alaska Peninsula in some of the most concentrated Brown Bear country in the world. As well as the prolific numbers of Bears, Alaska’s Coastal Brown Bears are the biggest Brown Bears in the World and if you’re willing to be patient, have a chance at a Record Book Bear.

The Alaska Peninsula where we hunt is a vast and rugged landscape with countless Salmon streams and many lakes. Sparse Spruce trees in the river valleys, Alder choked hills and scattered open tundra along with hillsides covered with cranberries, blueberries and crowberries to name a few, make for great Bear habitat. An average number of Bears per day spotted is around 4 or 5.

Hunts are booked as 10 days and you will fly out in either a Float or Tundra Tire equipped Bush Plane to a spike camp with cozy tents that are proven in the harshest Alaskan weather.

Moose Hunts

As of 2023 we are partnering with Stony Mountain Lodge to run moose hunts out of their well-equipped and newly updated Lodge. The lodge is nestled in the peaks of the Alaska Range in the headwaters of the Stony River. Sheep, Bear and Moose can be spotted right from the lodge and one moose hunt will be based out of the lodge with others being fly in spike camps. With their instrument equipped Quest Kodiak to transport to and from the Lodge right out of Anchorage on the other side of the airport from where your commercial flights will come in, this makes is so easy for both us and clients to not have another commercial flight to book, potentially miss, or deal with strict baggage allowances and missing luggage. We are excited about this partnership and very excited about the quality of Moose hunting.

These hunts will take place in Unit 19. These hunts can be in combination with a grizzly bear or black bear in this area. We also offer Grizzly hunts from September 1-10th.

SITKA BLACKTAIL DEER

Deer hunts are conducted on part of Kodiak Island (Unit 8) which is such a big outdoorsman's playground. Wildlife is abundant and is a beautiful place. The Bucks are much bigger (body size) than most people think with weights up to about 200 pounds. These deer are such unique looking Deer and although their antlers do not have a lot of inches on them, they can be challenging and so rewarding to harvest. The meat is delicious, and each big buck can yield about 50-60 lbs. of boned out meat. Along with the Deer there are good chances at Ptarmigan and the very abundant Foxes on Kodiak Archipelago.

Typical deer density is that on an average hunt there is usually an opportunity every day at a deer with sightings of upwards of 20-30 total deer in a day on a good year.

Hunts are booked as 7 Days and you will fly out from the city of Kodiak to a remote destination where again, we will have cozy tents as a spike camp with all the amenities we can to make a nice camp on the rugged and unforgiving land. Seasons open in August, but we run these hunts exclusively in November during the prime rut times.
