Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a fishing license?
This is not included in the cost of the trip. You can get it at home on the fish and game website (https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/) or buy it at most supermarkets and sporting good stores in Anchorage if you have a day there prior to your trip. A 3 day is $45, 7 day is $70, 14 day is $105 and annual is $145.
What equipment is provided?
All food/cook gear, water filtration, raft gear, camping gear, tents, cotts, sleeping pads. If you don’t have your own fishing gear, let us know and it can be arranged to let you use ours.
Are there bathroom facilities along the river?
NO. We take special care to burry all our human waste with a shovel and burn our T.P. so we leave no trace.

What can I fish for?
Most of our anglers want to target Alaska’s abundant Rainbow trout for their strong/acrobatic fight and impressive size. We also catch lots of Dolly Varden (Char), Grayling and depending on the time of year-all 5 species of pacific salmon. Some rivers hold a population of Round Whitefish, Sheefish, Suckers, and Northern Pike. Lake Trout can be found in some of the lakes we start our trip in.
Can I go on a tour if I have never fished before?
Definitely. However, we recommend you put some effort into learning the basics of the fishing technique you want to do prior to your trip. It can cut down on some frustration while fishing.
If you are more interested in sight seeing that is fine too.
What should I bring?
Please see our Packing list.
Whats the weather going to be like?
Please see our Weather Chart.
Will I see wildlife?
It is common to see Brown Bears, Black Bears, Moose, Caribou, Beaver, Mink and countless birds with the possibility of seeing Wolf, Wolverine, Lynx and Otter. Alaska has only 1 frog (wood frog) so no reptiles or amphibians.
